The American Petroleum Institute said distillate inventories for the week ended Dec. 3 fell by 1.2 million barrels to total 120.8 million, contrary to the Energy Department's reported 1.4 million-barrel climb. But the API confirmed a small rise in crude stocks, up 583,000 barrels to total 295.1 million. Gasoline stocks were up 2.6 million barrels at 207.3 million barrels, the API said.
