Frum is an embarrassment to Canadian Conservatives in my opinion. As for Perle, its specious for the others to suggest he has only "some" influence; he and his buddies are the primary influencers of American Foreign Policy and military doctrine right now. What the rank and file in the Republican Party may think now or in the future is irrelevant - they don't have any control over the gang in charge.
