I'm OK being a Lifetime member ... 1) with less features than a Premium member, and 2) without portfolios which were an extra cost to SI ... but that one really bothers me.

The $199.95 paid 2 months ago is worth more than $199.95 paid 5 years ago? (Yes, I know the bucks went into two different bank accounts, but let me point out that's from your point of view ... not mine. In either case, the bucks left ours.)

A Lifer who joins 2 months ago has more privileges than a Lifer that joined 5 years ago?

A soul going through the "pearly gates" during the eleventh hour is treated *better* than one entering during the first hour? *Equal* I can understand ... but *better* I don't.
