Hi Mike & Ed.

It appears that Ed holds out little (no) hope of success, I hold out a little, and you rather more than I, but less than neocon. The three of us do agree that if success does not come shortly, Reps will likely force reality on Bush, although you perhaps think Bush might see the light first, while I don't see that happening. Somehow Bush is forced to exit.

It is the consequences of the latter that interest me. You seem to think this will be net positive for Bush, to disentangle himself while trying to cast the results in as favorable a light as possible. He can than get on effectively with other tasks. I think it will irreparably damage his 2'nd term which will be full of endless recriminations and little productive accomplishments. Ed thinks it will be his just desserts for stupidity?
