A Lifer who joins 2 months ago has more privileges than a Lifer that joined 5 years ago?

The difference is a temporary one, not a permanent one. At the account level.

Anyone who purchased a Lifetime subscription during our ownership of the site got 1 year of Premium-Plus thrown in with it. An extra incentive worth $19.95. After that year has expired, if they don't sign up for another year of Premium-Plus, the system will see their account as identical to yours in terms of features made available. And the same $19.95 upgrade to Premium-Plus is available to grandfathered and lifetime members.

In much the same way that iHub sends a free t-shirt to all annual subscribers, but anyone else, including people who purchased lifetime subscriptions, has to pay $14.95 for them.

Or in the same way that I might buy a car today, but Kia runs a special next month where buyers of the same car get a set of fuzzy dice thrown in.
