And why not my father spent four years in the south pacific living in a pup tent. After the war he my mother and older brother came to California with "nothing but fifteen dollars and the G.I Bill". Using that G.I bill to purchase a home which after time gave them leverage to parlay into two businesses that created employment for themselves and others.
A great investment for the American taxpayer.
