Donald Lazere, PhD in English, UC Berkeley, 1973. Figures, doesn't it? Listed at Cal Poly's online directory as "Lecturer Emeritis" in English, but not on department's current faculty list. English Professor there from 1977-1985. English - surely second only to Sociology as an academic haven for the left. Kind of ironic, considering his arguments in the interview, that he would be the author if this: "Reading And Writing For Civic Literacy:: The Critical Citizen’s Guide To Argumentative Rhetoric (Cultural Politics & the Promise of Democracy)", Paradigm Publishers, release date Feb. 2005. Maybe it's really a guidebook for the creative use of fallacious arguments in political rhetoric? Also wrote "American Media and Mass Culture: Left Perspectives", Univ. of Cal. Press, 1987. Someone's trying to unload their copy of that one on Amazon for 29 cents, BTW. Five copies offered under a buck. ;-)
