I'm content with the session I'm currently using, so go ahead and close whatever you want in the other one.

The off-site backup is happening right now and supposedly has a day and a half left to go. While that's happening, I'm doing a lot of trimming down in the production database. Any tables I'm deleting, I'm first moving them to the deleted data backup db.

I deleted what I think (hope) are unnnecessary fields from the 1997 and earlier search table. Could you check for me and make sure searches still work correctly for that table? If so, I'll duplicate the field deletions on the remaining search tables.

I could actually get rid of all fields but the messageid and message text fields and use a join to the real message table to get the rest of the data that's needed. But will test that scenario to see if there's any kind of performance or overhead penalty before actually doing that. If there's a penalty, I'll leave the other fields intact since I'm trying to cut down on space the db is using but don't need to get too extreme about it.

Anyway, that's my current project. Cleanup and trimming. Tonight we're likely to have some periods where the site is getting timeouts from the db because I'll be shrinking the db, which is an expensive process.
