Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you saying: As soon as everyone has upgraded to 166 to 266MHz Wintel machines, then Java will fly? That's not really in keeping with this thread's title, "Wintel's Demise". Those Java applets are awfully slow to do their thing. I have a 100Mhz Pentium classic with 32MB of EDO RAM. It's not the most modern machine, but it's not exactly ancient either. Those Java applets bring the machine right to it's knees.
