John Kerry made similar statements that were proven untrue and election results showed that the majority of Americans are not gullible enough to believe such distortions of the truth. U.S. soldiers do NOT shoot at "innocent" civilians. The Iraqi terrorists want the world to believe that even someone carrying a shoulder-fired stinger missile is a civilian.
