Not only is CPQ's model wrong for the current and the future, but they are also trying to add band-aid's. They couldn't penetrate the enterprise by themselves, so they had to find TDM. Yup, meeting the goal of 40 bil revenues by 2000, is acheivable alright, if you acquire companies, and add their revenues.

Yup, looks like CPQ has its hands full. But what can you expect from a commodity boxmaker without a proprietary model.
