JFQ, Given enough time microevolution becomes evolution. There really isn't that much difference between a lion and a bear for instance. Mammals share many of the same features such as four limbs, heart, lungs, liver, eyes, teeth, tongue, ears. The variations between species are mainly the size of these things. I see no big problem here. I see huge differences in dogs which are the same species, and these differences were clearly forced by man over a period of a few thousand years.

I'll bet that given enough time a horse could be bred to look like a dog, and a dog like a horse.
