Yep. The coding is definitely very similar.

The trick part (pulled off nicely, if I may say so myself) is that doing so still uses readmsg.aspx, but the behavior of the "Previous" and "Next" buttons are quite different when the extra parm is in the URL.

Not only do I like to keep my aspx files as short as possible (even though aspx compiles source code, so comments are a non-factor, unlike with classic ASP where comments hurt performance), I like to have as few of them as possible.

The fact that you remember constantly wondering why the old version didn't work that way certain lends credence to mine and Dave's certainty that it never did.
