By my calculations on various commodities we have had something like 9-15% inflation for the past decade, largely hidden by the importation of artificially cheap oil and cheap Chinese goods flooding our markets. Combine this with the march of the mighty WAL over the domestic retail landscape, you can pretty much buy goods for less due to efficiency in distribution and a stripping of the wages of the retail worker. Remember when WAL used to have buy American? That went away with old Sam. There was a period of time where they packaged things in an American protectorate in the South Pacific but they don't even bother with that now.
