Why do you think Lucent will be able to sell more equipment to Sprint/Nextel combined than it would to the two companies if they remained separate? Nextel may have ultimately chosen the CDMA path over Flarion. It looks to me like this deal results in one less 3G network being built and less overall industry capex.
