People who are "against political correctness" for the most part (there are some innocents who have not got the word yet) want to be able to express bigoted remarks. They feel they have lost something they always had (eg the freedom to say demeaning things about women, minorities, and people who traditionally can't fight back).

Sorry, but I disagree. Not that there's not some of that. But I think that the PC movement, originally sensible, has become ridiculous. I think it became ridiculous ten years or so ago with the water-buffalo incident. And it's been all down hill since then. People don't use those words that CB listed any more, at least not without getting a raised eyebrow in response. The PC crowd should have declared victory then and moved on to some other cause before their good work degenerated to the point of a becoming a joke.

There needs to be a test of reasonableness. We can't set the standard by either the most sensitive or the most oafish among us.
