I'm still trying to figure out how, amongst all his current troubles, Amr /"A current moderator's" greatest priority became(after scouring his thread?) contacting SI in order to immediately assign a new moderator to the thread. Was that done through counsel or court order?
It appears some sort of conference took place.
In the past, Bear Down was knighted THREADHEAD with no SI intervention needed.

Anthony Elgindy has requested that moderation of this thread be reassigned to the user known as a@p_moderator and a@p_moderator has requested the same. Since both accounts are currently in good standing and meet the requirements for reassignment of moderator, their request has been approved and made effective.

As much as I hate to rain some reality into your day, there have been no exceptions to the rules. A current moderator asked that another user take over as moderator, and the other user asked to assume the role of moderator. That's in keeping with moderator changes that have occurred many times previously, and there was no legitimate reason to deny the request.

The same would have been true if it had been a thread about the cognitive skills of adults who were dropped on their head one time too many during their childhood.
