Hi Marcos, I was beginning to wonder if you'd banned your self from your own thread.

I'm vacationing in the southwest and I've just come back from a drive through a swank new housing development. The builders here are going gangbusters. Why should they be concerned about the tariff when they can just add the cost of wood to the buyer's price? It's not like they have to compete against foreign-manufactured houses sold at Walmart. And home-buyers are more affected by mortgage rates and land prices than by material costs.

Everything is playing out as you predicted a few years ago: Canadian jobs will be lost, the appeals will take a long time, the Bushies are wrong, and Canada will win in the end. How boring. Canada should have passed a law against paying the lumber extortion fees, effectively halting the flow of wood to the US in the middle of a housing boom!
