I'm a life time member here. And as a "life timer" I'm mucho pissed off that I lost my ability to perform advanced searches.

In the site's history, advanced search was only available for a very short time while Go2Net owned it. It was introduced as a beta, and didn't survive long. Likely because it was so expensive to provide.

Do you remember when it was that you lost your ability to perform advanced searches? I don't remember the exact dates. I believe it was only available for a month or two and that was 4-5 years ago.

I purchase the life time membership to have that ability for a life time.

In the old version of the site, the purchase of a lifetime membership added 3 things to an account:

1. The ability to post public messages.
2. The ability to post private messages.
3. The ability to read messages in batches of 10.

That's it. Everything else was included for free and didn't require the purchase of a subscription.

How the heck did they take that away from life time memberships without pissing everyone off?

Because:

1. Most lifetime members know advanced search was very short-lived in the site's history, was a long time ago, didn't work as well as this one, was not part of the site we acquired, and didn't require the purchase of a subscription before using it.

2. The "basic" search here that's available to all subscribers, lifers, and grandfathered members smokes the search available on the old site in terms of features.
