CB, Your statement shows that your love is well placed. When a marriage is successful, it is the inner human, that is our spouse, that we love. The symbol of the wedding ring is just a token of that love, meant to show the world that you are taken. The mutual, deep, abiding, love, is the primary feature of any marriage. As you say, that bauble can be replaced, while a finger cannot.
