kumar, Well, different strokes for different folks. :^) A wedding ring is still a token. The real picture of a marriage for the world to see, is the portrayal of a deep, and abiding, love between a man and a woman.

I had a step-son one time, that married a beautiful girl of Asian Indian descent, and her father went by the rules of Indian society. He was very reluctant to let his daughter marry until the older sister had been wed, and was leery of her marrying into a different culture. With many visits, the young man convinced the father of his love for the daughter. They had the Indian marriage ceremony first, and a traditional American one later, and, as the fairy tales say, have lived happily ever after.
