Mr. Mitchell, duly noted, duly appreciated, and duly accounted for.
I believe you would be referring to this site:
magneticdiary.com
As it only takes about two minutes or less for anybody to find out who anybody is on the internet, the artist of the 'Westergoof' site is no doubt "un-anonymous" to those of us who are internet savvy.
My God, I'm sure even Beavis and Butthead, who between them can't even spell the word "CD", could probably figure it out.
(uhh...Beavis...you take 'C'...and...huh, huh I'll take 'D'...he-he, Huh...huh,huh)
I'm sure the Westergoof author is quite flattered to be mentioned in national press. He is probably somewhat disappointed to not be contacted first, but likely would have said, "Hell, yes" anyway.
It is very probable that the author, if allowed the opportunity to respond would say something like this:
"Well, I do not believe that Westergaard is a 'real' Nazi in the sense that he attends 'White Power' meetings, talks like Colonel Klink, and has an awfully large shower room in which bodies enter yet never leave."
"But more to the point, I think that the 'bounty' is indicative of a tactic that many feel is 'Nazi-like' in style and conduct."
I'm sure that the author would be happy to make this qualification on the site, if that is legally necessary. But as long as the bounty remains 'intrinsically correct' in the eye of the perpetrator, the site stands as is. Period.
In light of the fact that the site declares itself a spoof, that it is an artist's interpretation of a tactic best described as 'Nazi-like' in nature, and that some amount of legal precedence resides in it's justification, any objectors are welcome to, in the most eloquent words I can find, blow me.
Warmest Regards, -MrB |
