what is DO ReIO Frank, thought I'd reply over here. The basics for DO Release 0 are a peak data rate of 2.4Mbps on the forward link using a TDMA-CDMA hybrid developed by QCOM, the reverse link stays at 144Kbps using CDMA. It is a data-only interface. Nextel is interested in DO Release A, which makes huge improvements to the reverse link(a little shy of 2Mbps) and markedly improves latency. The jury is out on whether commercial VoIP would be enabled by RelA, my guess is we still have one more iteration of DO to go for that. However, latency will be sufficient to move PTT over from iDEN. On the MMDS spectrum, Nextel intends to attack the broadband market, I was of the opinion they would move to Flash-OFDM or a standardized 802.20 in that band, but Merrill is reporting they will use a standardized TD-CDMA. I do believe the landline companies would like to bury the MMDS band, but Nextel has other plans. Cooters
