StreetInsider Alert for BCON Dec 14, 2004 (streetinsider.com via COMTEX) -- Beacon Power Corporation (Nasdaq: BCON) lifts 20% in mid-day action after the company discloses in an 8-k filing that it has been awarded participation in two projects with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and with the California Energy Commission. The Projects would involve the Registrant providing grid frequency regulation and reactive power by utilizing the Registrant's flywheel energy storage system. The final terms and conditions of the Projects have yet to be finalized, however, and the Registrant's participation is subject to this finalization of applicable contracts.
