In order for iraqis to make these choices post election with credibility, they may need to take the chance and ask the US to begin the exit strategy by pulling back from the cities and allowing that dialogue to begin. It seems to me that the iraqis will recognize that being perceived as a US puppet will not give them much latitude. mike
