The disagreement is about how to allocate these funds to kids. The left has this mantra that the child has to submit to education by public education monopoly to see a dime of these funds. Republicans and conservatives disagree.

You have avoided the specifics of my post. That is, the savings, assuming there are any, from anyone (left, right or center) who choses to privitize the education of their children. The intuitive position being that any savings need to passed on to the tax pool system, and redistributed to all tax payers, not specifically to the parents taking the action. The clearest supporting example being a taxpayer who has NO children in the system, but still bears 100% of his/her share of the tax burden on behalf of those who do.
