Al,

You have avoided the specifics of my post. That is, the savings, assuming there are any, from anyone (left, right or center) who choses to privitize the education of their children. The intuitive position being that any savings need to passed on to the tax pool system, and redistributed to all tax payers, not specifically to the parents taking the action. The clearest supporting example being a taxpayer who has NO children in the system, but still bears 100% of his/her share of the tax burden on behalf of those who do.

You are starting from an assumption that the money raised for the benefit of the children are in fact not for the benefit of the children but for the benefit of the institution of public school (and its employees).

This assumption is incorrect, therefore the rest of your argument is incorrect.
