Here are the facts and figures as of '03: uscourts.gov By the way, I know the attorney who handled the McDonald's case quite well. McDonald's got what it deserved in that case; it is a shame that the punitive damages got reduced. DMA is exactly right. A very slight reduction in the temperature of the coffee would have resulted in substantially less serious injuries. McD's knew this, and refused to lower the temperature despite having had numerous claims similar to the one which made my friend famous.
