Many populist parties emphasized ethnic nationalism, and were hostile to minorities, like the Jews. But few made Jews the centerpiece of their ideology. It was not inevitable that Hitler should dominate the far- right, much less come to power, just because the Versailles Treaty may have heightened nationalist sentiment. Versailles was a factor, as were other things.
