More -- Modem makers rush to deal with 56k patent holder 3Com license Larry Kraft, director of product marketing at 3Com Corp.'s U.S. Robotics subsidiary, said 3Com obtained a license for Townshend's technology. "We fully expect Mr. Townshend to win the majority of his [patent] claims which are fundamental to PCM modems," Kraft said.
