I meant that the conservative right was morally bankrupt in the sense that even though people believe fervently that they are entirely governed by morals, and are acting on them, when all the layers are stripped away and time goes by I believe we will all see that their morals—particularly regarding the war in Iraq--will turn out to be an actual lack of moral values.
This is not a personal attack on any individual posters, but I think that individuals on some level are starting to sense that all is not right, and are getting a little defensive. It is more an indictment of their leaders, for misguiding them in such a huge way. And for Republicans in the White House, Bush and his Cabinet, and particularly Cheney—I think they know exactly what they are doing, and that is a deliberate kind of moral bankruptcy.
I do understand what you are saying, and it is not my intent to offend any individual posters. I think in five years some of them may have different perspectives on current affairs, however, when more is revealed, particularly about our impact on Iraq.
