Bob Kohn joins the blogosphere. The author of "Journalistic Fraud: How The New York Times Distorts the News and Why it Can No Longer Be Trusted" has joined the on-line chorus of voices screaming for media fairness. Here is a perceptive comment from him about the Armor question in Kuwait.

On Saturday, the Times published a letter to the editor--the only letter published on the subject--which, of course, was dismissive of the importance of the reporter's role in the matter:

Why isn't it O.K. for a professional communications person to coach an untrained service member when somebody like Mr. Rumsfeld shows up for a photo-op? Especially one that he believes will be a "slam dunk"?

OK, let's imagine the tables are turned: Recall that during the recent election, John Kerry refused to directly answer reporters questions while on the road. Suppose a frustrated Fox New reporter, say Carl Cameron, crafted a devastatingly embarrassing question for a Vietnam vet to pose to John Kerry during a town hall meeting and then made arrangements with Kerry's PR people to make sure his guy was called on. Hmmm?
