As I pointed out in the above post, the US faces the same dilemma with its swelling Latino minority as Europe faces with her own Arab/Muslim one... In other words: do you know why the US will never --NEVER-- invade and occupy Cuba --or any other large-sized South American country, for that matter? Simply: because US ruling elites are shit-scared about the backlash AT HOME such an enterprise would entail.... I mean, just close your eyes and imagine: an Abu Ghraib penitentiary in the sweltering jungle of Brazil --where white marines torture and abuse Hispanics... now broacast the pictures prime-time on California's TV network --and wait for the fallout... LOL!
It's easy, if cowardly, for the US military to abuse Iraqis, Iranians, Afghans, or whatever Muslim/Arab people in the Middle East or Central Asia --since any backlash at home would be minimal: out of the 17 million Muslims in American, only 3 millions are Arab Americans...
Now, keeping that pattern in mind, the $60,000 question is: are US authorities stupid enough, reckless enough, damfool enough, to cross the line --that is, the Latino line????? Could the US war on terrorism and the growing animosity towards Latino immigration be on a collision course??? If they are, the yanks are in for an ugly fray....
