You confuse an attempt to unravel government from God with a "full assault". I understand the attraction some people might have in taking advantage of their superior numbers in order to use the government, and its moneys, and public spaces, to advance their religion. But it isn't really very "nice"- and the Christian agenda is really more than adequately represented everywhere in our Christian dominated society. What you are really complaining about, is that you can't dominate the society as much as you want to. If that is an "assault" then it's a good one, imo.

There is, imo, nothing to debate on this issue. Either you think the dominant Christian religion is under "attack" or you don't. How you can look at the US and see Christians under attack is beyond me- so I'll let you have the last word. But let me tell you, folks on the other side don't see Christian culture as having much to worry about- save that they might not be able to oppress and control all the people who don't believe like they do (and why should Christians REALLY be able to take marriage away from people who don't have their religious beliefs? Take it away from your parishoners- but why should you be able to do that to people who do not think the way you do? And why SHOULD you be able to have Jesus in the town hall, if other religions are not having their displays there? Goodness knows, there's plenty of Christmas everywhere else. Why MUST you own government as well? Why not leave it as an open and inviting public space for everyone? Why not? Because that would be tolerant and inclusive. ) JMO of course.
