Is not the problem that Zionism, even just a homeland for Jews, is "racist". This is the big problem I see for Israel in the long run. Jewish people have been able to maintain an ethnic identity while lacking a homeland for thousands of years. This clearly left them on the receiving end of bigotry and racism. But the current state of Israel leaves them in the opposite position, at least as viewed by many westerners. And there does not seem to be an easy solution. For if Israel treats the (1M??) Arabs within it's borders completely equally, there is the very real possibility that 200 years from now, Israel will not be a Jewish state. But ethnic "cleansing" is not a moral option for Jews (at least most I know). So what will happen?
