Bill, re: "tyranny of the majority, also known as... democracy"

"Tyranny of the majority," also limited by our constitution when it comes to infringing fundamental rights such as freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to be protected from unlawful searches and seizures, freedom to travel, freedom to gather and associate, right to bear arms, and a whole lot more basic rights. Or did you forget that the founders didn't trust "democracy" to protect rights they considered basic to man?

Those rights are protected in the constitution itself, together with its amendments. For those of you who see the constitution as standing in the way of your "majority" power and who feel the courts are a troublesome impediment to your ambitions all I can say is...that's tough. The founders were pretty wise. Ed
