Bill, when you write, "the founders established procedures for majority rule," I have to wonder if you read my post? My post addressed the FACT that the founders established clear LIMITS on the power of the majority to rule.

The will of the majority will prevail in many arenas, but not when it comes to limiting certain individual, fundamental rights. In such instances the will of the majority will NOT be given effect. The courts will block it. That's the way the founders set it up and that's the way it works. Even when the majority would like to "establish" a national religion. Ed
