CBOT to raise fees

Tribune staff, wire reports
Published December 16, 2004

The Chicago Board of Trade will boost electronic trading fees for Treasury futures in January, 11 months after trimming prices to dampen the appeal of a new competitor.

Members, who are now trading for free, will pay 3 cents a contract starting Jan. 1, the CBOT said. Non-members using members' accounts will pay 12 cents a contract. The CBOT cut its fees in February, days before Eurex AG opened a U.S. unit.
