I sometimes listen to the Calvary Chapel "To Everyman an Answer" radio show. I am amazed at the fuzzy, non-Biblical teachings I hear daily. What angers me most is the constant mis-quoting of Bible verses. How easy it is to mislead young Christians that aren't grounded in the word of God. They'll believe anything these folks tell them without giving it the Berian check.

Some of the most common unsound doctrines prevalent in the church today:

pride...I am amazed at how often I hear Christians say, "I'm so proud...(fill in anytghing here). The Bible clearly and repeatedly cautions against any form of pride. Apply this one especially to pastors and politicians. They use it daily to appeal to the flesh of believers.

debt...I hear so much rationalization from supposed Christian teachers about why it is necessary to have "some debt" in order to "get ahead". Romans 13:8 couldn't be clearer.
13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Pr 22:7 The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. Servant is translated by Strong's as "slave". Jesus cautioned us that we cannot serve two masters. Debt is a huge driving force within mammon. There is no equivocation in Proverbs 22:7. He who is in debt is a slave to his master, the lender.

self esteem... Need we even discuss this? It should be self evident that our entire worth is bound up in our relationship with Jesus. 1Co 1:31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
