This is a free speech issue because, to quote the Motley Fool, if Westergaard's tactics are successful they could result in a chilling effect on on-line investor discussions.

Your point that SI is not legally required to allow free speech on its site is obvious - that is why people are worried. If the law required the speech on this forum and forums like it to remain free, then I wouldn't even bother with this post. I think your suggestion that censored people start their own web sites to say what they want is unrealistic. Are we meant to seach every individual down? This is the place on-line investors congregate, and that's why it's important that the debates that go on here are not compromised by intimidation and censorship.
