I'm beginning to think that the issue in the USA is a poor power structure. When the population is very evenly divided, it is a winner takes all issue. Somehow the political power structure should reflect the relative votes. We should not be arguing over the last few 100 votes because the implications are so large. I wonder what structures might work for the executive branch that would accomplish this (other than getting rid of it)?
