SI is under no obligation to provide you with that soapbox!!!! I would be extremely alarmed if the law *required* SI to allow any and all speech in its forums. This would be equivalent to the government forcing a newspaper to publish any and all opinions without editorial discretion.

Don't get me wrong, I cherish free speech, but waving the 1st amendment banner here is a little like using a fire hose to put out a cigarette.

We as a society value private property as much as we value free speech, and this is one of those cases where the two butt heads. I'm sure that the Motley Fool, despite all their posturing, removes posts from its message boards which the owners find offensive. We can argue all day about how large corporations are swallowing up media (including the internet), and how this will have a chilling effect on free speech - but until the right to private property is repealed, we are going to have to deal with it.
