Sorry to post the invitation then disappear, but I'm a software guy and we were doing a release this week. Fortunately it's over and I can get one of those "life" things again.
It's great to see a bunch of names I recognize pop up on this board. Maybe we can have a decent discussion over here since the Yahoo board is just impossible lately.
I have a confession to make.... since I'm a programmer, I couldn't resist the temptation to build a little Yahoo message board filter. It runs in the background and sucks down the messages from Yahoo. I built in some heavy-duty ignore features, both for content and for IDs. Once I did that, I really didn't notice how far the Yahoo board degenerated for a while. This may explain why I abdicated the Courtesy Concierge role.
Anyway, my super-dooper filter lets me monitor a bunch of Yahoo boards. Disappointingly, none of them are worthwhile. My signal-to-noise ratio is on the order of 1:10. So, like I_Banker said, I'm this close to abandoning that effort completely.
Anyway, Hello again Cormac. We haven't seen Harry around for a long time. I really miss his posts. Seriously demented people appeal to me strangely....
FWIW, I used to follow the Gorillas and Kings thread here on SI pretty closely, never invested there because I was always waiting for IMMU to make the big move. But there were some extremely good posts/posters over there. They've moved to a moderated thread in the last while, the URL is at the end of this e-mail
Glancing at that thread and the names I recognize, I'd suggest that anybody with time to burn would find that thread extremely rewarding. If you do decide to post over there, twit Mike Buckley about the dessicant-based air conditioning, he and I go back to the AOL message boards, kind of like that ranch guy and me.....
Glad to see all the familiar folks over here, now let's see if this forum withstands the clowns.
OK, enough for Friday night. I've got some Tattinger's to deal with seriously <G>.
