Who, BTW, I never see at Costco. Are they banned there, too? Pre-banned, maybe?
This time the outrage machine has taken Target into it's giant maw. Makes a joke out of "fair and balanced." Here are two sources, one of which mentions Costco.
<<In previous years, other major merchants had also banned the red kettles, including Barnes & Noble, Borders, Toys "R" Us, Kohl's and Best Buy. Recently, Wal-Mart reduced the amount of days it allowed red kettles on their storefronts. The red kettles are allowed to collect for only 14 days before Christmas, instead of 29.>>
<<Retail giants Barnes & Noble, Circuit City, Kohl’s and Toys R Us also don’t allow bell ringers.
“Everyone is focusing on Target, but there are a lot of businesses that have never allowed it, like Costco, Home Depot … a lot of those stores,” said Carole Miller, spokeswoman for the Salvation Army in Reno. “It’s usually a corporate thing, not local.”>> |
