LB, In all my 69 years, I have never heard an American use the word "niggardly", and kumar's post indicated it being done in a nation that was part of the British Empire. I have never had any reason to use the word, but it seems to be accepted in some other countries.

I still think that if anyone, black or white, gets their nose out of joint because they don't know the meaning of the word, they are far too sensitive, but that word has long since been extinct in America.
