Actually, I have to support Kumar in this. While I myself never used such an big word (I get along perfectly well calling someone CHEAP) truth is I remember the use of the word niggardly often in the context of cheap, or stingy or done on a shoestring. But, as you point out, its fallen out of fashion here in USA, just as FAST FOODS have grown so have FAST WORDS. jdn
