Ford Escape gets Clean-Fuel Tax Incentive

Posted: 12/15/2004

The Internal Revenue Service recently certified the 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid as being eligible for the clean-burning fuel deduction. Escape owners can now claim a $2,000 tax deduction on Form 1040. This deduction helps off set the incremental cost of purchasing advanced vehicles, which are cleaner than conventional vehicles. Hybrid electric vehicles get improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions by combining an electric motor with a gasoline-powered engine. The tax deduction applies to all clean-burning vehicles first put into service in 2004 and 2005.
