It is true that much of the innovation is still happening here in the U.S.

But where is the iPod or the Axim actually manufactured? i bet it is in Taiwan or another of those copy-cat countries.

Good for the bottom line of U.S. companies (and executive packages). Bad for the typical $20 an hour worker. Their job is being moved to China ($0.75 an hour) at an alarming rate.

Can the U.S. stop the bleeding? Probably not, given the global imbalances.

Has your compensation been globalization adjusted yet (just a rhetorical question).
