The CEO for Pfizer said today on one of the US networks today. He said that Celebrex will remain the market. FDA is saying they will have an announcement concerning the Cox2's in a few days. Likely Pfizer has agreed to some new more restrictive labeling in the monograph. If this is the case I would suspect it will relate to the most recent studies and could restrict celebrex to specific patient populations and/or make recommendations not to exceed specific doses. I doubt the CEO of Pfizer would be unaware of the nature of these discussions with the FDA and would make the kind of public comments today if Celebrex was about to be pulled off the market in the US or anywhere else. Stranger things have happened though. Just look at the history of DMX for example.
