I hear you, but it is a sad reflection of our society when people feel that surgery is the only way out of their lack of self-esteem. Our culture is ailing for sure.

I hear you but the woman who won the Swan contest last year is a classic example. When she was in third grade, her father [not maliciously] told her 3rd grade teacher not to expect too much from her. She overheard the comment and its haunted her whole life........as she grew up, she was a recluse and unpopular. She had bad teeth, a bad complexion, a bad nose and was a little overweight. Her husband was abusive. The plastic surgery she had on the Swan show proved to be a boon..........she's real hottie now and much happier. Why should anyone be denied that possibility? It won't make her life a happy one on its own but it will make it easier for her to be happy.

In studies, its been proven over and over again.....that tall people, attractive people, athletic people make more money for the same job for which others get paid. People believe that attractive are more honest, better human beings. We are attracted to attractive people. Babies will stare at someone who is attractive........the faces of attractive people have more symmetry and we are draw to that fact.

So its not just cultural.......it seems to be innately human.
